There are a number of techniques for this type of chromatography, yet the fundamental concept is the same as regular phase chromatography. In this approach, the adsorbent has a solid affinity for the nonpolar analyte, but its interaction with the polar particles is restricted. This makes it useful for splitting up of weakly polar analytes. The polar particles are then eluted by a nonpolar solvent.
